The UAE Embassy in Washington, DC
Since the official opening in 1974, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, DC has reinforced the country’s strong and resilient alliance with the United States. Currently led by Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE’s diplomatic mission in the US has deepened military, economic, cultural and social connections between the two countries.
The UAE and the US’ longstanding security relationship was founded on their shared strategic interests in the Middle East region and around the globe. Through increased military coordination, the two countries have teamed up to secure borders, shut down terror financing, counter violent extremism, and address regional and nonproliferation threats.
In pursuit of fostering prosperity and innovation, the UAE has become a significant economic partner of the United States. The UAE has collaborated with world-class US institutions in fields such as nuclear energy, space exploration, healthcare and education. In 2020, bilateral trade exceeded $17.8 billion, supporting thousands of new jobs and business opportunities for both Emirati and American citizens.
From funding disaster relief projects to fighting against the coronavirus pandemic, the UAE and its Embassy in Washington is committed to creating a better world for future generations.
The UAE Embassy also oversees consulate offices in Los Angeles, Boston, Houston and New York City. For more information on UAE visas and consular services, visit the UAE-US Embassy website.
